UW-MADISON EVENT FORECAST: WEEK OF FEBRUARY 17-23
MADISON - A lunar eclipse will trigger several opportunities to view the astronomical event through telescopes at multiple campus locations. These and other University of Wisconsin-Madison events provide community and campus interest during the week of February 17-23.
The events listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

DETAILS: Tom Hooyer, associate professor of geology and geophysics, will explore the most recent glaciation of Wisconsin, a time when a number of lakes extended over large parts of our state.

LUNAR ECLIPSE VIEWING FROM THE ROOF OF STERLING HALL
WHEN AND WHERE: Wednesday, Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m., roof of Sterling Hall
DETAILS: The Astronomy Department hosts a public viewing of the night sky through telescopes on the roof of Sterling Hall on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Wednesday, Feb. 20, will coincide with a total eclipse of the Moon. The partial eclipse will begin at 7:43 p.m., and the total eclipse will begin at 9:01 p.m., when the Moon will appear red, dark, and disappear partially or completely.
