UK companies prepare for new carbon trading scheme
Measuring your Carbon Footprint Workshop, 19th May Countdown to the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), 20th May Climate Change and the Food Industry, 21st May
Are you ready for the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) – the UK's new mandatory carbon trading scheme?
On May 20th, join leading UK companies including B&Q, Land Securities, BSkyB, Barclays, ITV, Cable & Wireless, Trinity Mirror, IBM and BAA to find out how they're getting ready at our Countdown to the Carbon Reduction Commitment day.
'I am interested in seeing the depth of commitment that companies across different sectors have in measuring their carbon footprint, and in particular if they are using any methodologies which we may be able to use in some areas ,' says Dave Farebrother, Environmental Director, Land Securities.
Carbon management is the first step in preparing for the CRC which has serious impacts for companies across all sectors. This is the first time, for instance, companies will be required to publicly disclose their carbon footprints in an annual league table.
Our Countdown to the Carbon Reduction Commitment day is the only event that brings together companies, the Government and carbon market experts to discuss how this new scheme will impact corporates.
This day is part of our 4th annual Corporate Climate Response – London event which will attract over 200 sustainability professionals from across the UK and Europe. The second day of this event (May 21st) is dedicated to Climate Change and the Food Industry with top retailers and manufacturers discussing climate impact at every stage of the supply chain.
Please check out our brochure for full event details.
