How will the car of the future be powered? Will it run on hydrogen, batteries, ethanol or some as-yet undiscovered technology? Find out as NOVA joins Tom and Ray Magliozzi, the wacky mechanics of NPR's Car Talk, on a screwball automotive odyssey that doubles as a serious environmental wake-up call. From Detroit to California, Boston to Iceland, Tom and Ray mix their trademark slapstick with serious nuts-and-bolts analysis of what it will take to make our autos more energy-efficient. But do any of these future cars tempt Tom to give up his '52 MG? Tune in to see how the car guys answer this puzzler.
