GREEN FESTIVAL
Fest Times at Ridgemont High
If 10,000 Chicago Biters compost their paper napkins for 1 year instead of tossing them out, we'll keep the weight of 1,192 high schoolers in paper out of landfills.
Don't wanna stay Penn-t up at home next weekend? Ditch the mall scene and hit the Green Festival at Navy Pier, with 350+ exhibitors. Score an organic summer frock and free Numi teas (Chamomile Lemon, we love you), or if you're paycheckless, head for the green jobs aisle for info and inspiration. Some highlights: tunes from the bluegrass-y Big Sky String Band and meringue-rockin' La Pupuña, veggie-licious chow from places like the Chicago Diner, and (lest we forget…) organic IPA from Great Lakes Brewing Co. It's dope.
Why Care?
The Green Festival offsets 100% of its energy use and keeps a whopping 95%-98% of the event's waste outta landfills.

Personally Speaking
We'll be elbow-rubbing with the Urban Worm Girl (compost expert, not break dancer), high-fiver Marisol Becerra, and local food goddess Alice Waters.

Wanna Try?
