A Busy Week In and Out of Washington

Two policy related milestones in the U.S. this week promise to further accelerate corporate action on climate change: First, California passed a first-of-its-kind low carbon fuel standard -- committing California to a mix of no less than 20 percent clean alternative fuels for transportation by 2020 -- that many believe will serve as the model for inevitable federal legislation to follow in the U.S. Meanwhile, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency formally asserted its right to regulate greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act on the basis that they "endanger public health."

The implications of these developments are clear and compelling, and each gives rise to a question for you to consider:
