Solar power in landfills; EHS advice for PV; TSMC's green gaze

Welcome to PV Times, the authoritative weekly e-newsletter covering the solar photovoltaics manufacturing industry, brought to you by the editors of PV World, Solid State Technology, and Renewable Energy World.
FEATURES
Could 'solar power plants' spring up at landfill sites?
The largest commercial solar installation east of Arizona, a 3.7MW site next to a Waste Management landfill in Bucks County, PA, could provide a model for similar projects around the country.
Sustainable, responsible practices for the PV industry
With the rapid increase in demand (both consumer and commercial) for PV products, it is essential that the PV industry fulfill the perception of being a green industry by avoiding many of the past environmental, health & safety (EHS) pitfalls encountered during the expansion of similar high-technology industries, says Andy McIntyre from EORM.
Call for papers: Photovoltaics World Expo 2010
Co-located with Renewable Energy World Conference Expo, the Photovoltaics World Expo 2010 will address solar cell design and manufacture, including cells made of various types of silicon and alternative materials (e.g., CdTe and CIGS); module manufacturing/assembly/testing and balance of system components; and concentrated PV technology. Follow the link for details on how to develop and submit an abstract.
