Dear Daniel,

Forest Fires and Global Warming

More intense wildfires are already apparent.

Three EDF scientists describe other climate threats in our Climate Crossroads Q&A.

Global Warming is already transforming our world – from the North and South Poles to our own backyards.

We spoke with three EDF scientists – Dr. Steven Hamburg, Dr. Lisa Moore and Dr. James Wang – to learn what changes are underway, and what the future may hold.

Read our Climate Crossroads Q&A with EDF scientists.

And you can also ask your own climate science questions in the Green Room.

Hamburg, Moore and Wang also talk about how they stay positive and motivated while surrounded by disturbing climate facts.

As Hamburg puts it:

"You have to be an optimist; you have to have faith that humanity will recognize the threat that's before them and they'll respond."

Climate change may already be visible in your own backyard, from the trees that grow in your area to the birds that inhabit them. Migratory patterns of birds, insects and other animals are already changing. If you live in the American West, wildfires have become more intense.

And this is only the beginning.

Read our Climate Crossroads Q&A with EDF scientists.

Then, please make sure you take action. Here are 3 things you can do right now:

  1. Take action today to urge your Senators to support a strong climate and energy bill.
  2. Forward this email to your friends and family.
  3. Make a donation to support our campaign to pass a strong climate and energy bill in 2010.

Thank you for your activism and support,
