Dear Daniel,

Tell Edison -- Retire your dirty coal plants. Illinois deserves a clean-energy future just as much as California!

You helped us score a huge grassroots victory in February when Midwest Generation set retirement dates for their Fisk and Crawford coal plants in Chicago. Closure of these two ancient coal plants will prevent millions of tons of pollution and save countless lives.

But Midwest Generation's corporate parent, California's Edison International, embraces forward-thinking green policies in California, while they continue to operate four dirty coal plants in Illinois. We can't afford to let up!

Tell Edison International - Retire your dirty coal plants. Illinois wants the same coal-free future that you've committed to for California!

Together, Edison's four remaining coal plants have been linked to 229 premature deaths, 3,265 asthma attacks, and millions of dollars in health costs. And Edison could be close to making a disastrous decision to lock Illinois into decades more of burning dirty coal.

But it doesn't have to be this way. Edison has set California on the path to clean energy and could do the same for Illinois, already one of the nation's leading wind producers.

By opting to invest in clean energy over coal, Edison can end the pollution that is costing lives in Illinois and set our state on the path to cleaner future. But they need to hear from you and other Illinois residents to demand they make the right choice!

Send your message now -- When it comes to clean energy, we won't settle for any less than California.

Sincerely,

Christine Nannicelli
