North American Windpower: Proposed Seven-State Transmission Overhaul Would Move Wind Energy To Demand Centers

Note from Dan: This is major. One of the largest barriers to renewable energy is the existing power grid and its antiquated design from the early 20th century. The current grid isn't able to rapidly switch between intermittent generation sources, and there is a severe lack of East-West transmission lines from the areas with the greatest renewable energy abundance to the large populations centers with the most demand. Cross your fingers that this goes through.
