Dear Daniel,

Great news: On Wednesday the Illinois Pollution Control Board rejected a dangerous proposal that would have exempted five coal plants from air pollution laws for five years.1

Last month more than 5,000 CREDO activists in Illinois told the board to reject the proposal, helping build pressure to make this important victory possible.

Ameren Energy is in the process of selling five dirty coal plants to a Texas company called Dynegy. Both companies wanted the Illinois Pollution Control Board to exempt these plants from state air pollution laws that save lives and help clear the air – but grassroots activism stopped that from happening.

We'll continue fighting for clean air in Illinois – and we'll be sure to let you know when there are opportunities to get involved.

Thanks for your activism – it makes a difference.
