| | | The one thing the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power needs to know, Daniel, is this: The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) does not need to be re-examined, adjusted, or fixed because it's already working to get Americans off of oil. On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the Subcommittee will hold a hearing to examine the current status and impact of the RFS. It's imperative they remember that renewable fuel is the solution, not the enemy.
Ordinary Americans know this better than anyone -- 73% believe we need more choices at the pump, and this is exactly what the RFS gives us.
Share this graphic on Facebook to let your friends and family know you support the RFS, and they should, too. Right now, virtually all Americans are feeling the pinch of high gas prices. The volatile oil market forces people to make sacrifices in their spending, hurting the overall economy.
Renewable fuel is a critical tool to counter this trend -- already providing 10% of America's fuel needs, and in 2011 saving the average American household $1,200 on their gas bill and reducing gas prices by $1.09 per gallon. These are no small numbers, and we need to make sure the RFS continues to provide this relief.
Tell everyone you know about the importance of supporting the Renewable Fuel Standard:
