Tell Congress: Save wind energy before it's too late!

Dear Daniel,

In less than a month, Republicans will control both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The next Congress will be controlled by politicians elected with millions of dollars of the Koch brothers' oil money.

Senator James Inhofe, one of Congress's worst climate deniers, is soon to be America's most powerful Senator on environmental policy as the incoming chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee. So for the next two years, we're in for the fight of our lives to simply protect the environmental laws we already have.

One key policy that's at risk is the production tax credit (PTC) for wind power, a vital incentive that has helped funnel billions of investment dollars into wind energy projects. The PTC is necessary to help us increase the use of renewables instead of fossil fuels -- but it's expired.

Now, before Republicans take over in the Senate, may be our last chance to renew this essential protection for wind energy -- so we need you to write your Members of Congress and tell them to renew the PTC for two years.

Tell Congress to act now! Stop playing politics with the climate and renew tax credits for wind energy!

Big Polluters have been getting federal subsidies for more than a hundred years -- and over the next decade they are scheduled to rake in over $100 billion more in government giveaways.

Of course, there's a reason Congress has no problem giving handouts to Big Oil and King Coal. The Koch brothers poured millions into this year's election in order to purchase the best Congress their dirty oil money could buy. In fact, in this election cycle, the oil and gas industries spent more than $50 million to elect industry champions and climate deniers.

In other words, Big Polluters just made a big investment in installing what they hope is one of the most anti-environment Congresses in US history -- and you can bet that they'll be expecting even more giveaways from Congress.

But when it comes to supporting wind power -- a source of clean energy and solid manufacturing jobs -- Congress is dragging its feet, delaying the transition away from fossil fuels and condemning future generations to climate disruption.

Our best chance to renew the PTC is before the Koch brothers' Congress takes over in January. We need to act now!

Tell Congress to support wind energy, not dirty fossil fuels!

Supporting the wind industry is an affordable step toward stopping climate change and ending our fossil fuel addiction. The PTC has helped make wind the fastest-growing source of electricity in the US -- without the PTC, it will be harder to expand wind energy further.

As big spenders like the Koch brothers do their best to strangle wind energy in its cradle, the time has come to send Congress a reminder: we still want to see decisive action on climate change!

We need to make our voices heard and demand that Congress renew the PTC for wind before it's too late: Take action NOW!

Thanks,
