Opinion: Renewables are key to curbing climate change
Montana and other states can curb climate change by switching to a clean energy economy powered by wind and other renewables, writes Holly Seymour, a campaign organizer for Environment Montana. "By transitioning our society away from dirty energy -- and instead using zero-emission energy sources -- we can stop forcing our climate to change, and stop increasing the risks of damage to Montana's natural habitats," she writes.

Analysis: Northeastern N.C. well-suited for wind development
Two counties in North Carolina are considering a 105-turbine wind farm from Apex Clean Energy that is poised to become the largest project of its kind in the state, according to this analysis. Observers say that northeastern North Carolina, which already has the Amazon Wind Farm US East under construction, has excellent wind resources that make it ideal for wind development.

Wind energy is a mainstream energy source that is increasingly in demand throughout corporate America, according to Wind Coalition Executive Director Jeff Clark. He added that wind is saving consumers money on their electric bills, which is offsetting the cost of transmission upgrades, and driving economic growth by attracting data centers, manufacturers and other industries where wind is prevalent.

Wind is leading global shift away from fossil fuels, says Vestas CEO
Wind energy is leading the global shift away from fossil fuels and is expected to surpass them as the world's leading source of generation by 2030, writes Anders Runevad, group president and CEO of Vestas Wind Systems. "With increasing speed, global energy markets are turning away from fossil fuels and towards wind and other renewable sources, not just because they're clean but because they're cheaper, more competitive energy choices and offer a level of long-term certainty more price-volatile fossil fuels just can't match," he writes.

Opinion: Wyo. should repeal $1-per-megawatt tax on wind generation
Wyoming should be looking for ways to reduce taxes on wind generation instead of increasing them, writes Ryan Call, a contributor to Writers on the Range. Call argues that the state should repeal its existing $1-per-megawatt tax on wind and that doing so would encourage future investment in its wind industry.
