The American Wind Energy Association objected to the Bureau of Land Management's final rule updating the permitting process for renewables on federal land, which AWEA says could further deter wind development on public land. "The rule penalizes projects pursued outside of designated zones, yet there are no designated zones for wind energy and there may not be for years," AWEA said.
