Global turbine market could hit $81.14B by 2019, report says
The worldwide market for turbines is poised to reach $81.14 billion in 2019, up from $76.54 billion in 2015, driven by stable government policies, falling costs and an increased concern for the environment, according to GlobalData. However, the market will likely fall off in 2020 due, in part, to the expiration of the wind energy Production Tax Credit, the report found.

Opinion: Wind helps Vt. farmers, rural communities
Vermont needs more wind development because the industry can provide rural farmers with a stable income while also creating jobs and providing schools with much-needed funding, writes retired dairy farmer Phil Letourneau. "There is free wind blowing across Vermont's farm fields and hills and we should be putting it to good use," he writes.

President-elect Donald's Trump pick for energy secretary, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, could help drive renewable energy development at a national level -- just like he did for Texas, according to this analysis. Wind Coalition Executive Director Jeff Clark said, "My great hope is that he will be a voice and will bring the success we've had to Washington, and help educate some of those folks who have never had an up-close look at how wind energy works."
