Texas governor passes bill restricting tax exemptions for wind farmsTexas Gov. Greg Abbott has signed a bill that will prevent wind farms located within 25 nautical miles of a military base from receiving the state's property tax exemption. The Wind Coalition President Jeffrey Clark continues to object to the bill, arguing that it's unnecessary because the military and Federal Aviation Administration already review wind farms near military bases. He said the bill is also unfair to rural landowners and will interfere with wind farms that would have economically benefited the state.North American Windpower online (6/12)Maine may solve infrastructure issues by clustering grid connections
