East Coast offshore wind farms could create 75,000 jobs, report shows
The US offshore wind industry would create about 75,000 full-time jobs if the targets of New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York and other East Coast states were met, according to the Center for American Progress and the New Jersey Work Environment Council, citing 2014 data from EU countries. "When coastal states get the right policy in place for offshore wind, they're supporting working families and being leaders in the urgent fight against climate change," said CEP Associate Director of Ocean Policy Shiva Polefka.
