CleanNERC to promote clean energy's role in grid resiliency
GridLab and Grid Strategies have introduced CleanNERC, an educational outreach group that will raise awareness about clean energy technology and its potential to enhance grid reliability. "We look forward to partnering with CleanNERC to build on the wind industry's history of being good citizens of the grid and working with system operators and planners to provide clear rules of the road so wind can continue to contribute to system reliability and resilience," says American Wind Energy Association Senior Director of Electricity and Transmission Policy Sari Fink.

Analysis: White House shaped electricity costs in Q2
The actions of the Trump administration had a huge impact on energy prices during the second quarter, affecting oil, coal, solar and wind, writes Peter Maloney. American Wind Energy Association Senior Director John Hensley noted that falling wind costs continue to drive demand among utility and nonutility buyers, resulting in a 34-gigawatt pipeline of projects under development as of April.

Report: Mass. clean energy legislation would create 1,800 jobs
A bill under consideration in the Massachusetts legislature to ramp up offshore wind and the use of renewables, if enacted, would create 1,800 jobs, infuse $3.4 billion into the state's economy over 12 years and curb greenhouse gas emissions without raising costs for residents, say the Applied Economics Clinic and the Sustainable Energy Advantage. "By building on the commonwealth's current approach to clean energy development, these policies would bring new jobs and GDP growth to Massachusetts," adds lead author Elizabeth Stanton, AEC's founder and director.

Yarmouth, Mass., should enter a partnership with Vineyard Wind to support the spread of clean energy throughout the area, writes Jan Kubiac of West Yarmouth. Kubiac is a member of the bipartisan Citizens' Climate Lobby and argues a "carbon fee-and-dividend system will give fossil fuel companies an incentive to invest in renewable energy and remind all of us to be energy-efficient."
