BBC (7/2)       ENGIE, Swiss firm to develop 208-MW project in Norway ENGIE and Swiss asset firm SUSI have agreed to co-develop Project Tonstad, a 208-megawatt wind farm in Norway in which ENGIE will own a 20% interest. The duo say the 51-turbine project has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Hydro Energi. United Press International (7/2)       Economy, Energy & Trends Wind, solar duo poised to offset Wash. state coal plant closure TransAlta will begin phasing out a coal-burning power plant in Centralia, Wash., in 2020, pulling roughly 1,340 megawatts of generating capacity from the grid, says the company. The 140-megawatt Skookumchuck Wind Energy Project and 180-MW Tono Solar array are under development in the area and are expected to offset the change in capacity caused by the closure. CleanTechnica (7/2)       Kimberly-Clark uses wind energy to curb GHG emissions Kimberly-Clark set a goal to acquire 1 million megawatt-hours of wind energy annually in 2017, and has had success using renewables to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions 18% below 2005 levels, says the firm in its 2017 Global Sustainability Report. "Through sustainable practices that support a healthy planet, we can build stronger communities and ensure our business thrives for decades to come," says Lisa Morden, vice president of safety and sustainability.
