Perry: White House may save 50,000 MW of coal, nuclear capacity
The Trump administration, while it hasn't confirmed any plans, may act quickly to preserve about 50,000 megawatts of nuclear and coal-burning generation slated to close over the next couple of years, said Energy Secretary Rick Perry during a meeting with press on Monday. "We're looking at the all contingencies," said Perry, noting economics come second to national security.

Opinion: Pro-development policies will help US offshore wind thrive
The US has incredible offshore wind resources, but needs the support of lawmakers and stakeholders in the form of stable, pro-growth policies to realize the magnitude of the industry seen in Northern Europe, write Rob James, Andrew Weissman and Bryan Stockton of law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. Opinion: Mass. residents must support local renewables
Clean energy and renewables enjoy broad support in Massachusetts, yet many residents falter when it comes to building projects in their "backyard," writes Don Mallinson. Mallinson argues that clean energy's environmental benefits outweigh other concerns, especially since they "are being addressed and resolved by local, regional, state and federal agencies."
