The wind energy industry expects even more distinct growth within the next years than it had in 2004

WindEnergy Study 2006 published

The global wind industry has a very positive outlook on the development of the wind market. This is one of the findings of the WindEnergy Study 2006 that the German Wind Energy Institute (DEWI) conducted for the third time on behalf of Hamburg Messe. According to the WindEnergy Study 2006 the total world-wide installed power of wind energy plants will more than double over the next five years. Thus, the growth forecast up to the year 2010 published in the last WindEnergy Study from 2004 may be corrected upwards by up to 12 percent. By 2014, those companies from the industry that operate on an international level even expect an increase of more than 250 percent. Read more about the results from the WindEnergy Study 2006 in this newsletter.

That the global wind industry is growing closer together also becomes apparent from the new cooperation of the WindEnergy with the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA). Thus, the leading international fair for wind energy won yet another association from one of the wind energy growth markets with the strongest development as a „Supporting Partner”: In 2005, Canada recorded an increase in newly installed power of 54 percent year-over-year. „Due to this potential the international trade fair WindEnergy 2006 in Hamburg is the ideal partner for us to establish new business contacts and promote the exchange of expert know-how with regard to the important topics such as export, financing and internationalization,” Robert Hornung, President of CanWEA, pointed out on the occasion of the cooperation agreement. The Canadian wind energy industry will present itself at its own nation pavilion in Hamburg.

That growth is the order of the day is also obvious from the positive response to the WindEnergy 2006. Ever more companies are participating in the international trade fair for the first time. This is to be considered particularly in conjunction with the current high workload of the established manufacturers and suppliers: Many companies newly positioned themselves in the future market wind industry during recent months and now want to present their alternative products and technologies. The WindEnergy is the industry event world-wide and therefore provides the optimum platform fort his.

In comparison with 2004, there are already more than 100 new exhibitors - 50 percent of which are international companies. However, we have not yet achieved our ambitious objectives by far: It goes without saying that registrations by exhibitors continue to be welcome. So if you have not yet done so please register here now, as the deadline for the catalogue entries and other services is imminent. Use this opportunity to present your company to the international trade audience in Hamburg in May!

In addition, companies have the option to promote themselves even better at the trade fair. Become a sponsor of the WindEnergy 2006! Attract the attention of the whole industry: With the attractive sponsoring opportunities of the international leading trade fair your company is guaranteed to take centre stage.
