Report: Clean energy supports 714,000 Midwest jobs
Clean energy jobs account for more than 714,000 positions in the Midwest, according to the Clean Energy Trust and Environmental Entrepreneurs. The report says the industry supports four times more jobs than fossil fuels in the region.

MAKE analyst: US wind is "full steam ahead"
The US wind industry is "full steam ahead" despite challenges such as the cancellation of American Electric Power's Wind Catcher Energy Connection project, says Anthony Logan, a MAKE Consulting wind power analyst for North America. Logan notes that the US is poised to add wind farms totaling 32 gigawatts over the next three years and that direct procurement contracts with utilities are in their infancy.

Siemens Gamesa enters into 10 MoUs in Taiwan
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has secured 10 memorandums of understanding with suppliers in Taiwan to source materials for future wind projects. Taiwan has set a goal to add 5.5 gigawatts of new installed offshore wind capacity by 2025.

Orsted's Brostrom: Training, state collaboration needed for offshore wind
Offshore wind is beginning to advance in the US, but collaboration between states and more workforce training efforts are needed, says Orsted North America President Thomas Brostrom. Clean energy advocates in Cleveland call for 100% renewables
Residents, local leaders and organizations such as the Sierra Club convened in Cleveland, Ohio, on Friday to urge city leaders to adopt a new 100% by 2050 target for renewables. "By increasing energy efficiency and looking at innovative new projects like community solar and offshore wind, everyone stands to gain in a clean energy economy," said Jocelyn Travis, a campaign coordinator for the Sierra Club's Ready for 100 Cleveland project.
