ReNews (UK) (3/28)       Economy, Energy & Trends UK could add 1.3 GW of capacity by wind repowering, report shows The UK could add 1.3 gigawatts of new wind generating capacity by upgrading and repowering its existing projects, according to the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit. The report said that almost 60 wind farms in England, Scotland and Wales featuring more than 750 turbines will turn 20 years old within the next five years. CleanTechnica (3/28)       Macquarie unit expands stake in 210-MW UK offshore wind farm Energy investment arm Green Investment Group of Macquarie has purchased Marubeni's 25% interest in the 210-megawatt Westermost Rough offshore wind farm in the UK, bringing its total stake to 50%. Legislature passes bill on wind projects near military bases The Oklahoma Legislature advanced a measure on Wednesday that would block the construction of wind farms thought to have a negative impact on military operations.
