Wind industry criticizes Okla. bill to overhaul tax credits
Oklahoma lawmakers are considering a change to the state's wind energy tax credits that would end incentive payments for the industry, redirecting $70 million to education instead of wind companies. The Wind Coalition has criticized the proposal, which Oklahoma Director Mark Yates argues is a "bait-and-switch" and an attack on outside investments.

Apple powers 100% of its global operations using clean energy
Apple has secured enough power from wind and other clean energy sources to offset 100% of the electricity used by its global operations, including retail stores, distribution centers and office space, according to the company. Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson adds that Apple is invested in developing clean energy markets and will often choose to build in areas that rely on fossil fuels to encourage a switch.

Va. should take steps to attract offshore wind, Orsted exec says
Offshore wind presents a great opportunity for Virginia, and the state should take steps to encourage it, writes Thomas Brostrom, president of Orsted North America. Virginia's ports, workforce and business climate can make it attractive for offshore wind energy, but those advantages "must be coupled with strong public policy signals from state and local leaders that this industry is valued," he writes.
