Popular Science Reports That Developing Thorium Reactor Technology Could Get The World Off Oil In Five Years

Quote:
"One ton of thorium can produce as much energy as 200 tons of uranium and 3.5 million tons of coal, according to the former director of CERN. via Telegraph"

This is a fascinating article advocating small, local "micro-reactors" and a very interesting read. My preference is still vastly in favor of a wind/wave/solar/hydrogen/algal-biodiesel solution to to our long-term energy needs. However, we need to get off of carbon-positive energy sources as quickly as possible.

Thanks for reading,

Dan
