Report: Wind, solar may provide 20% of the world's energy needs by 2035
The upward trajectory of wind and solar put the two energy sources on track to supply nearly 20% of the world's electricity needs by 2035, according to Wood Mackenzie. The report notes that the world's emphasis on sustainability "is almost akin to a gravitational force, pulling things in one direction and driving the 'great fuel switch,' leaving little possibility for a reversal."

Opinion: N.J. is emerging as a national offshore wind leader
New Jersey is pursuing a goal to add 3.5 gigawatts of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030 -- a goal that would create thousands of jobs, stimulate many downstream industries and deliver low-cost energy to the state, write Debra Coyle McFadden and John Shinn of the New Jersey Work Environment Council. "New Jersey is strategically positioned to be an economic leader in the region's adoption of offshore wind," they write.
