AWEA: 35% wind generation by 2050 would save consumers $14B annually
American consumers would save about $14 billion annually on electricity if the US were to source 35% of its total electricity from wind by 2050, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Cumulatively, consumers could save about $149 billion on their electric bills, said the report. Wind has become "the lowest-cost source of new generation," said AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan.

Report: Offshore wind farms could garner investment-grade ratings
Offshore wind development is gaining traction in the US, and investment-grade ratings have become feasible for operational offshore projects, according to ratings firm Fitch Ratings. Offshore wind companies must consider risks associated with offshore debt to in order to improve ratings, said the report. Offshore projects, for example, have a higher capacity on average than land-based projects, but also are subject to rougher operating conditions.
