Energy Dept.: Clean energy technology costs continue falling
The cost of clean energy technology in the US has declined between 40% and 94% since 2008, ranging from wind energy to energy efficiency measures, according to the Energy Department. "We need to continue pushing the innovation agenda that leads to these kinds of dramatic cost reductions for all low-carbon technologies and increase America's competitiveness and independence in the global clean energy economy," said Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz.
