This isn't the small-time squabble it might sound like on the surface. These Representatives are seeing real hardship and suffering on the ground, while the rest of the Republicans are thinking "that's a rich part of the country that should be able to help themselves." On top of it, they face the prospect of more of the same if Climate Change is all that 99% of scientists believe it is. The Republicans are pretty much abandoning the basic idea of community; that you band together to deal with problems too large for small groups to handle alone. That's why we even HAVE government. This story bears watching. - Dan
