Grant to assess area forests' biomass potential

Light & Power windmill grinds to halt

A generator bearing failed and the turbine ground to a halt, said Ed Rice, Traverse City Light & Power's executive director. The windmill has been broken for about six weeks. Doyle signs law to limit phosphorus in dishwasher soap

A law that will limit phosphorus content in automatic dishwasher soap sold in Wisconsin has been signed by Gov. Doyle. The law will take effect July 1 to give retailers time to sell their current inventory of soap and switch to phosphorus-free detergent. Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (11/12)

Government of Canada announces funding for Great Lakes clean-up projects in Detroit River area of concern

Jeff Watson, Member of Parliament for Essex, today announced $410,000 in funding from the Great Lakes Sustainability Fund for four projects to clean up the Detroit River Area of Concern.
