About The Northern Hemisphere Cold Snap The Past Two Weeks...

...This worries me.

It has long been predicted that the great "Atlantic Conveyor Belt," a system of currents that circle the Atlantic, would shut down.

This circular current around the Atlantic takes warm water from near the equator and carries it North past Europe. The thing transfers massive amounts of heat to the North.

Without this current, the entire Northern hemishere, including Europe, North America, and parts of Asia would be much colder. At the same time, the equator would get much hotter, yet overall average temperature continues going up..

The shut down would happen because melting glaciers are fresh water. and they lower the overal saltiness of the oceans as they melt. Saltier water is denser, and sinks harder in the cold North Atlantic. This effect drives all the ocean currents,

If this is what is happening, things could get much worse.
