Dear Daniel,

A bipartisan bill on energy efficiency should be a good thing.

The Shaheen-Portman bill would increase energy efficiency across our economy, reducing pollution while saving taxpayer dollars and promoting job growth.

Unfortunately, it's a perfect target for extremists in Congress who want to score political points and add harmful amendments that would weaken President Obama's climate plan, announced just a month ago.

Tell your senator -- tacking on harmful amendments that attack the President's climate plan is unacceptable. Keep the energy efficiency bill clean.

The bill itself is a great example of bipartisan cooperation. A broad group of stakeholders reviewed and approved every part of this bill.

So it's sad that climate deniers are expected to tack on harmful amendments targeting the President's climate plan, promoting dirty energy sources, or setting back rules to limit carbon pollution.

Email your senator today and say -- reject any amendment to the Shaheen-Portman energy efficiency bill that harms our ability to tackle climate change.

Such controversial, dangerous amendments are an insult to the bipartisan group that worked together to make our buildings more energy efficient. They must be rejected by both sides of the aisle.

Thank you.
