The report said that under its model, land-based wind and offshore wind would provide 30.9% and 19.1% of the nation's electricity, respectively. Solar, hydroelectric, geothermal and hydro power would supply the remaining capacity. The report added that the plan would create 2,815,850 40-year operation jobs, and 2,285,816 40-year construction jobs. The Honey Creek wind farm would have featured up to 115 1.6-MW turbines. "Honey Creek has proceeded through the very early stages of the application process, but has concluded that it will no longer go forward with this project," said the company.  | Blue Energy orders 23 Siemens turbines for Scottish wind farm Siemens has won a contract to supply Blue Energy's Blackcraig Hill wind farm in Scotland with 23 SWT 2.3-megawatt 93 turbines from its G2 platform. The project will have a total capacity of 53 megawatts. Siemens said the contract includes a 20-year service and maintenance agreement. The project is expected to begin operations spring 2017. | SSE, Coillte raise $191M for 169-MW wind farm in Ireland SSE and Irish forestry company Coillte have secured $191.7 million in financing to build the second phase of a wind farm that, when completed, will have a total capacity of 169 megawatts.
