Eversource, Orsted agree to offshore wind venture
Eversource and Orsted entered into a $225 million agreement for offshore wind power projects. The two companies will have equal ownership in Orsted's Revolution and South Fork projects and in a tract off the Massachusetts and Rhode Island coasts.

States' new climate goals include emphasis on wind power
Some states are introducing climate goals that include more wind power as Congress considers the Green New Deal. Maine Gov. Janet Mills is offering incentives for wind power and solar use, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is establishing an office of climate and energy.

Democratic presidential candidates support Green New Deal
Most Democratic presidential candidates are pledging their support for the Green New Deal, a resolution that addresses climate change issues including a goal of net-zero greenhouse emissions in 10 years. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg have expressed more skeptical views.

PacifiCorp updating wind turbines at Wyo. farm
Twelve new wind turbines can do the work of the 69 wind turbines at Wyoming's Foote Creek Rim I, installed in 1998, and the old ones are being replaced, PacifiCorp officials said. The wind farm located between Laramie and Rawlins is Wyoming's first.

Study: Wis. renewable energy plan could create 162,000 jobs
A transition to renewable energy sources will improve public health, the economy and create an estimated 162,000 jobs, according to a study by University of Wisconsin at Madison think tank COWS. The study recommends converting electric power generated from out-of-state sources to renewable sources that include wind and solar farms.

Michigan residents surveyed by University of Michigan researchers on their perception of wind farms showed little change in two years with most saying they create jobs and money for landowners.

    Bill allowing US territories to create offshore wind farms reintroduced
    A bill that will allow Guam and Puerto Rico to create offshore wind farms was reintroduced by Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Jenniffer Gonzalez Colon. The bill was passed out of the House Committee on Natural Resources in 2018 but was reintroduced after the bill's sponsor, Delegate Madeleine Bordallo of Guam was not renominated for another term.
