House PTC phaseout repeal unlikely to survive conference, says analyst
The wind energy Production Tax Credit phaseout repeal proposed in the House of Representatives' tax plan probably won't make it through conference with the Senate, according to Hugh Wynne, an analyst with research firm SSR. He noted, however, that if provisions in the tax bills result in the loss of the tax equity market for wind producers, firms may be forced to increase prices by up to 80%.

The House of Representatives' proposed tax bill isn't a job creator, it's a job eliminator for 22,000-some individuals employed by the wind industry in Texas, according to Texas Wind Energy Clearinghouse Executive Director Greg Wortham. "The Great Plains ... a lot of West Texas, and communities that supported Trump were fundamental rebuilt by this industry," he added.

Report: Global offshore wind market could hit $57.2B by 2022
The global market for offshore wind could climb from $20.3 billion last year to $57.2 billion in 2022, according to Indian firm Zion Market Research. The report added that the industry could expand by a compound annual growth rate of 16.2% from now through 2022.

Digital Realty inks PPAs for 96 MW of wind, solar capacity
Data center solution provider Digital Realty said it has signed two long-term power purchase agreements through which it will acquire about 96 megawatts of installed wind and solar capacity for two data centers in Illinois and Virginia. The wind energy for its Chicago location will come from Leeward Renewable Energy.

Nordex wins deal to upgrade Acciona wind farm in Spain
Nordex has won a contract to update Acciona Energia's 30-megawatt El Cabrito project in Spain, said the companies. The project currently features 90 turbines, which will be replaced with 12 Nordex machines totaling the same capacity.

EnBW launches 9.9-MW project in Germany
EnBW has launched its 9.9-megawatt Fichtenau project in Germany, featuring three 3.3-MW turbines from Vestas, said the firm. EnBW broke ground in April and had the turbines fully built by September.

Partnership to expand satellite, internet services for wind sites
Washington state-based communications firm Kymeta has partnered with global connectivity specialist FMC GlobalSat to expand its satellite and internet connectivity offerings for renewable energy sites, including wind farms, according to the companies. Kymeta said its KyWay terminals connect sites to satellite-based networks at a fraction of the cost of traditional options, such as fiber-optic cables.

Del. agency gathers public input on offshore wind opportunities
