    Norway to add 2 sites for offshore wind farms
    Norway has agreed to open two sites for offshore wind or floating offshore wind projects. Minister of Petroleum and Energy Terje Soviknes says the sites will likely feature an offshore wind demo and pilot project that will help the country learn about the technology.

    Canadian firm Clir Renewables has introduced new software that monitors turbine blade erosion and offers companies insight into its various causes. "Detecting leading edge erosion during a project's warranty period, so maintenance is able to be planned and scheduled, has a huge and positive financial impact," Director of Data Science Andrew Brunskill says.

    Texas utility to launch 100% renewables program Oct. 1
    Texas utility Bryan Texas Utilities will launch a new program Oct. 1 that gives ratepayers the option to purchase electricity entirely sourced from renewables. "For the folks that just want to use green energy, it gives them that option and they can buy green energy," Executive Director of Business and Customer Operations David Werley said.
