A Progressive Mission Statement:

So what is it we really want? Democrats, Progressives, Greens, and other "Left-leaning liberals?"

We want:

1. True Democracy in our nation: one person, one vote, it counts.
2. A clean and healthy environment that is well able to support life.
3. The freedom to live OUR OWN LIVES as we see fit, without imposing our way on others or having theirs imposed on us.
4. For no one to have to worry that they won't have food, water, clothing, shelter, and medical needs met, regardless of why. The basics of life are always there.
5. No more wars except in HONEST self-defense.
6. SOLID national security so we can have number one through five. That takes a much more balanced outlook than just building weapons.
7. To be generous and kind to the rest of the world as best we are able. To be a good example and promote kindness and generosity without imposing it.

I've heard it said once too often that "Democrats and Liberals" can't explain simply what they stand for. Here it is. It's very simple, but implementing it is complex. THIS is what we at the grass roots level are really about. Anyone that disagrees, see numbers one and three.
