UW-Madison News Release--Clinic teaches telescope use

UW-MADISON'S SPACE PLACE CLINIC TEACHES TELESCOPE USE



MADISON -  The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Space Place will hold its ninth annual telescope clinic Tuesday, Jan. 25. Volunteers from the university, as well as the Madison Astronomical Society and Eagle Optics, will help visitors learn to set up their new or old telescopes and get started observing the night sky. Telescopes will be available for those without their own to view.



Jim Lattis, director of UW Space Place, says he is hoping the event will provide an opportunity for sky viewing, especially for a glimpse of comet Machholz. "We're hoping, if the sky is clear, we can help people see it with their own telescopes," he says.
