Illinois PIRG: Transit Vctory- Finally!

Hi Daniel,

With the passage of House Bill 656 in Springfield today, I'm happy to report an end to the cycle of doomsday scenarios that commuters have faced for years in Northeastern Illinois. This is a huge victory because we now have a reliable and long term solution to how we fund transit.

In addition, the legislation links this new funding with reform of the transit agencies such as the CTA. That means more accountability on the decisions that transit agencies make.

Thank you to everyone who called and emailed lawmakers over the last year to build up their support of reliable funding and reform of transit service.
