According to The Associated Press, "Federal officials said Monday that wolverines do not warrant endangered species protections in the contiguous United States, despite lingering concern among government scientists that the rarely seen animal remains imperiled."
Entire Salmon Season Could Be Halted

Peter Fimrite of The San Francisco Chronicle says, "So few salmon are living in the ocean and rivers along the Pacific Coast that salmon fishing in California and Oregon will have to be shut down completely this year unless an emergency exception is granted."
