NYSERDA prepares for Dec. 15 BOEM offshore wind auction
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has submitted the documents necessary to qualify for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management's Dec. 15 offshore wind leasing round in New York. "If NYSERDA is successful in the bidding, we will engage all involved stakeholders and ensure that offshore wind in New York is developed responsibly," said NYSERDA President and CEO John Rhodes.

N.D., S.D. Sioux tribes seek to add up to 2 GW installed wind capacity
Seven Sioux tribes in the Dakotas are in the early stages of developing a wind complex that would cover six reservations and have an installed wind capacity up to 2 gigawatts, according to this piece. The tribes, which have organized under the Oceti Sakowin Power Authority, are expected to build the projects in several phases.

Innergex begins operations at 150-MW project in Canada
Innergex has begun operations at its 150-megawatt Mesgi'g Ugju's'n project in Quebec, Canada, featuring 46 3.2-MW M114 machines and one MM92 turbine from Senvion. Senvion said that LM Wind was responsible for manufacturing the blades and towers.

EDF orders Vestas turbines for 3 projects in France
Vestas has agreed to supply EDF Energies Nouvelles with turbines for three projects in France with a combined capacity of 112 megawatts, said the companies. Vestas said that the wind farms would use a combination of its V126 3.45-MW, V117 3.45-MW and V90 2-MW machines.

Nordex wins turbine supply deal with GP Joule in Germany
German wind developer GP Joule has ordered 3.6-megawatt N131/3600 turbines from Nordex for a project in northern Germany, according to the companies. Nordex said that it is the first order it has received for the line, which it launched in September.

Global Marine assumes control of CWind assets
UK subsea cable firm Global Marine Systems has assumed full control of CWind after acquiring a majority interest in the latter earlier this year. Combined, the entities said they operate 22 crew transfer vessels and provide a wide range of services for offshore wind farm operators in Europe.

Ill. Supreme Court to review $600M transmission project

The Illinois Supreme Court has agreed to review a 2014 case in which the Illinois Commerce Commission moved to block a $600 million transmission line from Rock Island Clean Line that would carry wind energy from Iowa to Grundy County, Ill. Rock Island said the project would benefit the local economy, create construction jobs and help clean energy businesses within the state.
