Report: US Climate Alliance on track to meet Paris accord goals
New York, California and Washington state and the other 11 states in the United States Climate Alliance are on track to meet their share of the goals outlined in the Paris climate accord due, in part, to local renewable energy targets and electric vehicles, according to a report from research firm Rhodium Group. Vibrant Clean Energy CEO Christopher Clack said, however, that a national grid would be the best option for decarbonization because a states-only approach could lead to a system unable to support large wind and solar capacities.

Clean energy will expand as turbines scale up, costs fall, says BNEF
As turbines scale up and wind and solar costs fall, clean energy will become more affordable and more widespread than fossil fuels in many parts of the world, said Bloomberg New Energy Finance founder Michael Liebreich. A report from BNEF said clean energy would likely account for 86% of the roughly $10.2 trillion that will be spent on generation by 2040.

Wind PPAs put Kimberly-Clark ahead of schedule on GHG goals, says exec
Kimberly-Clark is on track to reach its goal of curbing greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2022 four years ahead of schedule in 2018 due to a pair of wind power purchase agreements signed last week, according to the company. "These two renewable energy projects, combined with a number of other energy initiatives across the company, put Kimberly-Clark on-track to deliver significant multimillion-dollar cost savings from energy and climate projects by 2022," said Senior Director of Global Sustainability Lisa Morden.
