Avangrid Renewables, CIP unveil Mass. site for O&M facility | New interactive NRDC website tracks wind, other technologies | Bay State to invest $2M in Mass. fish, whale protection measures
Vineyard Wind, made up of Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, has decided to build an operations and maintenance hub for their proposed 800-megawatt Vineyard offshore wind farm in Vineyard Haven, Mass., according to the companies. Once completed, the facility is expected to create 40 permanent jobs.
The Natural Resources Defense Council has introduced Revolution Now, an interactive website that tracks the development of wind, solar, LED light bulbs and electronic vehicles. The website will use public data to track deployment and cost decreases for the four categories.
Orsted and Eversource, the duo behind the proposed 800-megawatt Bay State Wind offshore wind farm in Massachusetts, will invest $2 million in various research programs to protect fish and whale populations in their offshore wind zone. Bay State Wind said $1 million of that total would be directed toward research efforts to address the concerns of fishing groups.
Accelerate, Optimize, Scale, Modernize In today's rapidly evolving landscape, businesses face increasing demands, and efficient IT plays a crucial role in their success. IT needs to evolve, and infrastructures need to adapt. Watch this video to learn how Red Hat can:
Acciona Energy will build a 144.9-megawatt project in Cameron County, Texas, dubbed Palmas Atlas that will feature 46 AW125/3150 turbines from Nordex, according to the company. CEO Rafael Mateo said Acciona is "too concentrated in Spain" and is exploring other markets.
Vattenfall said it has erected the first of 11 turbines at the European Offshore Wind Deployment Center off the coast of Scotland in the North Sea. "The installation of the first of these powerful turbines at Aberdeen Bay is another milestone in Scotland's renewables story," said WWF Scotland Acting Head of Policy Gina Hanrahan.
AirFusion, an artificial intelligence software specialist from Boston, has released new monitoring software to help wind farms assess turbine damage and streamline the inspection process. The platform features AI technology and is cloud-based.
