US investors are increasingly comfortable with wind, solar, say experts
US investors are increasingly comfortable supporting wind and solar projects, said firms and executives during the Renewable Energy Finance Forum-Wall Street in New York. An American Council on Renewable Energy report found that two-thirds of US financial institutions plan to increase their spending on renewables in 2018, and roughly 89% expect they'll continue to do so through 2030 unless government policies dictate otherwise.

Va. is an excellent candidate for offshore wind, advocates say
Virginia has excellent offshore wind resources and is in the perfect position to take advantage of the emerging US industry, say Sierra Club Virginia Chapter Offshore Energy Program Director Eileen Woll and Business Network for Offshore Wind Executive Director Liz Burdock. "We need to be talking about scale and long-term commitment so there's a consistent pipeline, just like Europe has done," Burdock argues.
