AWEA Chairman Brown: Wind is driving US energy independence, investment
Wind is a low-cost and predictable energy source that has the power to create jobs, stimulate economic growth in rural communities and help the US on its way to energy independence, writes Vestas Americas President and American Wind Energy Association Chairman Chris Brown. He argues that the US could further advance the benefits of wind by expanding its transmission infrastructure.

BNEF: Policy uncertainty, falling costs cause Q1 US clean energy funding cuts
Worldwide investments in clean energy dropped 17% in the first quarter, with US clean energy sector investments falling 24% to $9.4 billion, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. The report attributed in part the US decline to uncertainty surrounding the future of the nation's tax credits, and falling costs, which allow for less spending on generation. "It was a relatively quiet first quarter for global investment, but it's too early to assume that 2017 as a whole will be lower than last year," said analyst Abraham Louw.
