Connecticut Opens its First Biodiesel Station

Connecticut’s first biodiesel commercial fueling station has opened in New Haven. Buckley Energy will supply biodiesel from World Energy Alternatives to Santa Energy, Inc., located at 670 Ella T. Grasso Blvd. Santa Fleet Services will offer commercial customers B20, or a 20% blend of biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel.

“Key World Energy Distributors like Santa Energy will continue to be an integral part of helping World Energy drive the biodiesel market forward,” said Gene Gebolys, president of World Energy.

The Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition sponsored the pump opening event. There are more than 200 retail stations nationwide with more becoming operational every month. Click here for a map of public pumps carrying biodiesel.
