It's never too early to start planning for our annual family-friendly, bike-friendly and -- of course -- eco-friendly fundraising event. Ride and collect pledges for your favorite cause. Raise money (and win prizes!) for Clean Energy, Toxic-Free Kids, Zero Waste, or Protecting Natural Places. Governor Takes 'Critical Step' Towards Environmental Justice

For the people of Southwest Detroit, and other similar communities around the state, Gov. Granholm's recently signed Executive Directive Promoting Environmental Justice could provide relief from pollution-related burdens no single community should be forced to bear.

There's more work to do, but the U.S. Congress in Dec. passed legislation to increase vehicle fuel economy, promote renewable fuels, and provide money for green jobs training.

To the delight of environmental health activists, parents, and children across the state, Gov. Granholm recently signed legislation to protect children from high lead levels in products including toys, childcare articles, lunchboxes, and children's jewelry.
